The Crackley Bank Charity Heroes work together each term to raise money for different charities.  The children learn to care for others and think of wonderful ways to raise money and awareness.  We are very proud of our school community as they go above and beyond to support others.

We would like to give a huge thank you to our children, parents, grandparents and friends of Crackley Bank when supporting us and the charities close to our hearts.

To find out more information on the charities we have supported, click on the slide show to the right.

Harvest - The Crackley Food Bank

Screenshot_2022-10-04_at_082412.png

We have been collecting food for our harvest this year to donate to our ‘Crackley Food Bank’! As we know, we are in some tricky times financially with the rise in the cost of living.

We wanted to focus on helping our most local community who might need support during this time.
So, this year, we decided to donate our Harvest collection to the community of Crackley Bank who might need it. Just take a look at what we have collected for this!

We will open the food bank soon – so keep your eyes peeled!

Spotty Day for Leukaemia Care: September 2022

We celebrated our spotty day in school this week! Our children came dressed to school in their spotty clothes to celebrate Spot Leukaemia. We were raising money for Leukaemia Care, which is a charity that is very close to our hearts. We raised a total of £72 to donate to Leukaemia Care. The children enjoyed looking at ‘spotting’ the signs and symptoms of Leukaemia, and also joined in with a spotty bingo in school. Thank you all for your support!

Race for Life

The children had a wonderful time doing their Race for Life in school, and getting their special medals.

They had time to reflect and think about someone they were racing for, and how Cancer Research can help people who are poorly. They even made some lovely pictures of ‘who they were racing for’.

We raised a total of £2761!! This is an incredible amount – we just can’t believe it! Well done to all the children for their amazing fundraising, and for getting so many sponsors.

Thank you as always for your continued support.

Ukraine Support

Image

We are deeply saddened by the recent crisis in Ukraine and as a school and a community we are asking if you could please help with the aid required to support Ukraine. We are opening donations for supplies to be sent to Ukraine which need to be in school by Friday 4th March. We are also opening a ParentPay donation point, where you can give monetary donations if you would prefer, which will be sent straight to The British Red Cross. Please see the letter sent via email for further details.

Christmas Jumper Day for Donna Louise Trust

It’s our last day of school before we break up for Christmas and today we celebrated our Christmas Jumper Day!! We all dressed in our most Christmassy jumpers, and enjoyed our parties and Christmas cheer throughout school – we even had a special visit from the Big Man in the red suit! This year we decided to raise money for the Donna Louise again, and we raised a total of £68 to donate to them. Thank you everyone for your amazing support :-)

Children In Need

Image

We celebrated Children in Need in school by having our own clothes day. We saw lots of Pudsey’s and lots of fantastic outfits on the day. The children took part in activities in school and we talked about what the Children in Need charity supports. Some of us joined in with Joe Wicks and took part in a live PE session with him – which was lots of fun! We have raised a total of £141.50 to donate directly to Children in Need so thank you everyone for your fantastic support!

Leukaemia Care and Cancer Day

We kicked off our school year with a special day that has become a tradition here at Crackley Bank! We celebrated our ‘Spotty Day’ in honour of a charity that is close to our hearts – Leukaemia Care. We all dressed in our spottiest clothes today, and our older children had a think about the signs and symptoms that can help you to spot leukaemia. We are very proud of how thoughtful, and sensitive our children were and how lovely they were in discussions about this awful disease. Our older children in Y5 and Y6 also made their own ‘Spot Leukaemia’ posters! Check them out to the left. We raised a total of £168.57 that will be donated directly to Leukaemia Care. Well done everyone!

Take a look at the signs and symptoms below and for more information click the images to go to the Leukaemia Care page.  We know that Leukaemia can affect any age.  You will notice a familiar face on the slides below.  Miss Paling with the support of Leukaemia Care and the fabulous NHS is revovered and returned to school.

In February we supported Leukaemia Care again.  We had an awareness day for World Cancer Day. Our older children had discussions about charities that support cancer, and why it is important in order to support them. We looked at Leukaemia Care and how they support people who have a blood cancer. We opened Parent Pay for anyone who wanted to make a donation today which would go to Leukaemia Care. We raised a total of £98 to send to Leukaemia Care – thank you all so much!
