Reminders:
PE:
Year 5 PE will take place every Tuesday and Thursday (Thursday will be swimming!). On these days, children need to come to school in their PE kits and stay in them all day.
The children will receive their new PE kit during the week commencing 15th September 2025. Until then, please ensure they wear plain jogging bottoms or leggings (no zips/logos) and either their team colour shirt or a plain white/black shirt.
Information about the new PE kit will be sent out soon. Please also ensure children wear suitable trainers.
Children must tie back long hair and may not wear earringsduring PE. Plasters will not be accepted as a substitute for removing earrings.
On a Thursday, children will need to bring a swimming costume (full costume or swimming trunks), a hat for long hair and a towel. Information will be sent out regarding swimming.
Reading:
Please continue to support us by reading with your child at home for at least 10 minutes each night. We will also be reading with the children in school as regularly as possible, so books and diaries must be brought to school every day.
Homework:
Homework will be sent home each Thursday and will be due the following Wednesday.
Our homework focuses on times tables and spellings the children have been learning in class. If your child needs any help with their homework, please let us know before Wednesday, and we will be happy to go through it with them.
Water Bottles:
A polite reminder that children should bring a named water bottle to school every day.
Weather:
As the weather can be very unpredictable at this time of year, please ensure your child comes to school prepared — coat, sun hat, sun cream… or all of the above!
